ultrasn0w, the only program developed by the Dev Team to unlock iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 baseband got a new update. Latest update brings ultrasn0w to version 1.2.8 and make it compatible with iOS 6.1.

MuscleNerd has confirmed on Twitter today that the new version of ultrasn0w is available on Cydia a few days, it does not decode baseband new iDevices, but still allows users to decode old baseband devices.

Locked phones can now update to iOS 6.1 by creating a custom firmware  with Sn0wBreeze, and then install Ultrasn0w from Cydia to allow the proper functioning of the SIM inside the phone.

Versions of baseband supported by this new version of Ultrasn0w are:

  • iPhone 3GS – 04.26.08 – 5:11:07, 05:12:01 – 5:13:04 & 06:15:00
  • iPhone 4 – 01:59:00

You can install ultrasn0w by installing from the repo666.ultrasn0w.com of Cydia repo, but it is useless on any iPhone newer than the iPhone 4. We strongly advise you to update to iOS 6.1 while preserving baseband of iPhone intact with sn0wbreeze.
